Didn't really get the impression the amount was what Cory was concerned about. It was more having to drag a drooling passed out drunk that you don't know and flagging down four cabs to finally get one to take the drunk. The 40 bucks was just the icing on the cake, keep in mind Cory did this all on his own volition to help somebody out he saw in need. I'm not sure why you can't see that as the gesture of kindness it was.
