If you wanted to be logical about it there is far harder to do large amounts of damage to the rear of a car than the front.
If you wanna be vain about it, because the front of the car is more definitive than the rear.

If you battery is ever dead its easier to jump start.
Park beside 2 people that are parked nose in and if they ding you with the doors its on the back end.
Easier to get out.

Depends on the situation, and sometimes what I feel like.
If I'm in a car park where there's no barrier between my car and the one directly behind, I'll back in. I'd rather they nudge a rugged steel towbar than a painted plastic bumper.
At home I usually back in so that the front porch light is shining directly on the drivers side door (none of the other doors have an external lock).
Finally, my car is a large sedan so it's usually much easier to back in. If I go in forwards I usually need to do a quick reverse-forward correction so that I don't swipe the car next to me. Same with coming out, if it's a tight spot then I usually need to do the same... if I'm backed in then I just drive straight out.
I think I've only ever seen one chick reversing in.

I can barely park head first let alone tail first , that takes some crazy skills. If I did I would probably end up running something over or back up into a wall. To be totally honest I can barely back up , I'm always dropping my tires off curb too... bad coordination.
I'm a horrible driver, don't ever drive with me ... I make all my passengers look for me and tell me when I can change lanes

My wife's car is so tiny that she can usually drive in forwards without having to do any corrections, plus she has at least 2-3 feet clearance from each bumper.
That's one of the probs with my car being larger, there's more chance of someone clipping me or opening a door into my side. I don't have dimensions but this gives you an idea...
mine: 6 cyl 4.0L RWD sedan, 157kW, 1594kg (3506lb)
hers: 3 cyl 0.66L FWD hatch, 31kW, 660kg (1452lb)
The length of her bonnet is about the length of my lower arm. I hope she never runs into anything...Comment

I have to admit I got in a car accident once while backing up in parking lot!!! And the worst part was I hit a parked car!! I guess I didn't look behind me or something and backed up too much. Theirs was a commercial van and was fine nothing happened, but I completely smashed my back light!! I hit it HARD, people were running out of the stores to see what happened.
You have to be incredibly stupid to hit an empty parked car of all things while backing out in a parking lot, so I guess that makes me pretty stupid!

I back in because it's easier to load and unload the trunk as we use our back door as a main entry point to the house. Also, it's kinda fun backing in while my girlfriend looks nervous. She would probably ramp the damn house if she tried backing in.Comment

I never park near any other cars so it doesn't matter. Too many fucking retards will hit your side with their door or clip you with their car. I always park in the back of any lot so it doesn't really matter how I park. 2 months after I got my brand new car someone managed to fucking open their door and ding mine. Too bad I didn't know who it was. Fucking ding stands out too on my door.Comment
