She didn't say RACE, she said CULTURE, and it's a valid statement and observation. RACE and CULTURE are two different things. Different cultures have very different courting rituals, just as different animal species have different courting/mating rituals. I am not adding any validity to the actions of those involved, however, in pointing out the differences in two parties cultures, one can better understand their actions. Again, that is no excuse if they stepped over the line, which it sounds like they certainly did, but what is aggressive to one culture, may be perfectly normal to another.
No need to play the race card.
