I loved it. One of the best movies I've seen in a long time. But it IS a bit of a chick flick. The whole movie is based around a couple struggling just to survive while wondering if they'll ever see each other again and fighting to get back together.

it's basically the retelling of The Odyssy only during Civil War Times. The book is really good and I actually liked the movie. The cast is good, it looks good and really gives you a feel for what life was like back then and the hardships people faced. Well worth the watch.Comment

Beyond boring , three hours of no action... I'm a chick and even I couldn't stand the "chick-flickness" of it. Had to struggle to stay awake during all of it. Very slow-moving, almost three hours of nothingness...Last edited by phogirl69; 08-27-2004, 04:55 AM.Comment

I just watched it. Great movie. The ending is a little predictable, and there are some spots in the movie that lag, but Rene Zellweiger rocks completely and Nicole's not bad either.
