    California Church May Pay $1.5 Billion to Settle Abuse Claims

    LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - People who say they were sexually abused by priests could receive more than $1.5 billion in damages from The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Los Angeles -- more than any other U.S. diocese has paid, an attorney for more than 100 alleged victims said on Sunday.

          I doubt the abuse is a recent thing. I'm sure raping young boys is a long tradition in churches going back thousands of years.

              I dont want to dilute the fact that some people were abused. But I really have to think how many have just jumped on the wagon, and cliamed that they were.

              It is not that hard to get enough info and make that claim.
