One of my clients lost his 18 year old son last Saturday in a motorcycle accident. He died on Saturday and his funeral was on Monday at 6pm. I'd say that was pretty damn fast.

Depends how religious they are - I know that the ones I've known to be religious - the ones that practice the faith, not the Fashion Jewish folk that use it to open the business doors - have to be buried with a day.

Then your friend was not buried in the traditional Jewish manner. When a Jewish person dies, they are not left alone until they are buried. Traditionally burial takes place within 24 hours of death (they are NOT embalmed). 48 hours is allowed if there are relatives etc. that live far away and need the time to get there..or if it is the Sabbath. First of all, I am VERY sorry for the loss of your mom. Stay strong, and remember the good times. ALWAYS REMEMBER that your mom would want you to be happy and not to sit in misery. (As a mom, trust me on that) Grieve, but don't let it take over your life, or let you make rash decisions.
Secondly, DO NOT worry about what people on GFY say. Equinox apologized, and seemed sincere. Accept that, an move past this thread.
