do not get an xl1 or xl1-s.

All of the cameras mentioned are in the same class.
The new Sony HD cam is still at least 6 months from being shipped.
The XL2 has not even shipped but should be available at the end of September.
The Sony VX2100 is an excellent choice. Billions and billions of dollars have been made off of porn shot with this camera.
This is the cam to get if you don't know what the f*ck you are doing because it is so great on full-auto mode.
Most porn shooters are too stupid to light the scene so the Sony is great because it is the king of low light. Also the image stabilization is great for shooting hand held.
The Sony is the one to get for shooting gonzo type porn.
Panasonic DVX100A is the cam I own. It has a better picture than the sony but is not so great on full auto mode. This is the cam to get if you really want to tweak the picutre and have more pro control. You can also shoot in progressive mode which I think lools so much better than regular video. I only shoot in progressive now and can't imagine going back to "the look"of the other cams. The new XL2 should look similar or even better.Comment
