    Internext and AVN Expo 2006 - both shows on the same dates

    from my recent research i just found out that both porn shows, and CES, are all at the exact same times this year....i may be wrong though, maybe ALY can shed some light on this

    internext vegas 2006 is 01/05-01/08
    AVN Vegas is 01/05-01/08
    CES Vegas is 01/05-01/08

    wow, this kind of sucks ass, but i guess it is kind of cool...we just made a decision not to attend internext and stick mainly with AVN Expo, so it will be nice to be there at the same time as all the internet folks...plus we can bounce from show to show to show

    sucks for those that are used to each show following the other though, now if you want to go to both porn shows, you will have to get 2 booths, 2 crews, 2 sets of models, etc....twice the cost

    avn is going to see less money overall on this one, cause some people won't want to set up at both shows at the same time

              yeah, and word has it, rooms are going for $350-500 a night at that time

              someone mentioned that if you sign up for CES (free reg) and mention that when you book your room, you get a nice discount

                                              AVN & Internext are becoming very boring. I won't even bother paying for Internext in January. I did much better business hanging out with all the other bored webmasters at the Mandalay bar.

                                                              That would suck to have to get two crews if you were to do both shows. I did both shows last year and it cost a mint just for one crew/models etc., for each show...ah well...what can ya do. I think Vegas might be the time to hang out and not even bother with a show pass, more business gets done outside of the show floor...it's not like AVN books the entire hotel for that one...

                                                                                                          Posted something like this before, before it really deserves a repost.


                                                                                                          Cutting corners to make as much profit as possible. There's a reason Internext is in January and overlaps CES at the same time...which is just a nightmare all around. But this won't change because AVN is overly confident that they hold this market..so there's no reason to make changes. AVN knows you'll follow whatever they decide...and they're right...everyone has.

                                                                                                          What I simply don't understand is why someone like Lensman, Epoch, CCbill, (hint hint) doesn't see the massive opportunity for a new show in Vegas to replace internext...and simply take over the Vegas show.

                                                                                                          Put the new show a week or two after CES and everyone will register to this new show instead of internext. Do it right for a change. Easier said then done obviously, but certainly NOT at all impossible when you gather a few of the bigger players and pull together all their marketing power and resources.

                                                                                                                                                      $279 a night for one of the king suites at the Venetian is NOT a bad price. It's a decent sized room (2 rooms, actually). This is more than we've paid before but still a great deal, IMHO. The simple fact that you've pulled up the rates that are almost twice as much going directly through the hotel proves it's not a bad deal

                                                                                                                                                              However, people have been bitching forever about AVN and the money grab and they have done absolutely nothing but gank more money (oh wait, they gave away pizza last year after a few people said they did dickall for us and those that had booths YIPPY). I think it maybe high time to stop supporting them in altogether. One needs to hit them where it hurts and it obvious the only place that is, is in the pocket! IMO.
