Why would Iran, or any other country want a nuke? Hmmm let's see..
The Bush administration, as well as other countries are all up in other country's kitchen all of the time. Telling them what to, and not to do. Threatening strikes, and all the other wonderful things.
However, when you see the countries who have nukes.. N.Korea, Russia, Pakistan, India, Isreal they are not kicked around as much, and are treated with more respect. You do not see the EU, US, or other countries always trying to bully another nuclear power.
In the third world, when you see the overall global politics, and trying to keep other countries out of your kitchen, a nuclear program might look like a good alternative. Plus in the middle east, I am sure all of the muslim countries who absolutely hate Isreal, are not all that comfortable with them being a nuclear power. Much less some of the nearby Pakistan's and so on.
So in the biggest johnson catagory, if they can get the technology, and hold a stand up with being bullied around all the time, then it looks advantagous. N Korea's an enormous pain in the ass to Japan, US, and S.Korea to name a few, but you do not see the Bush administration threatening them all of the time, as we do with some other countries.
