If you are on a 56k who can you work? That speed drives me insane with how many sites you're visiting and then reading the board. If I was a webmaster on 56k I would work 1 extra day a month to make 1-2 sales to afford a cable modem.

Some ISPs marketing 500Kbit, 1Mbit and so on as broadband....which in fact is BS

i once read this board on a 56k connection at someone else's pc. It hurt so fucking bad - almost 3 minutes to load the main forum page.

I would actually be at the 56k speed if I connected through my phone while travelling. Unfortunately I don't have a laptop yet so I just go from public library to public library hooking my shit up on their computers....Comment

We just spent a week on the road and one night we ended up at a hotel that didn't have broadband. It was the first time in over 2 years that I used a dial-up connection and holly shit, I had forgotten how painfully slow it is!
