It is about supply and demand, but not exactly like McDonald's. The hamburger suppliers do not have as much stigma attached to them as pornography suppliers. That is why you can go down to Wal-Mart and buy a mainstream DVD for about $15, but to get an adult DVD you must travel usually to an industrial area possibly in another town or even county and you pay $30+ for a DVD that was produced for a fraction of the cost of the mainstream title.
