    Am I the only one HATING quicktime ?

    it fucking takes over all extensions when you install it and shit .

    But half of the vids posted here needs quicktime ...

    I'ma install it ... but I hate it so fucking much

                                      I personally don't have it installed on any of my systems. If I really really want to watch a qt video i install it then uninstall after watching. I hate the thing

                                          Tried them all, I far and away prefer using windows media player. It "takes over" nothing, it never auto-starts, it just works the way I want it to work. Everyone has a personal preference, this one is mine.

                                                                                          Everything about quicktime sucks... Crap player, format, compression and pushed on you from a crappy company. If you've ever installed it you can get back some of your memory by opening task manager and killing qttask.exe.. You don't need it. Get used to it though, every time you reboot it will start and the player will edit your registry to add it to startup everytime you play a video...

                                                                                          At least the Real Video's format has good compression. Just use 'Real Alternative'

                                                                                                  Uninstall Quicktime and use Quicktime Alternative it plays QT files in classic windows media player.

                                                                                                  Uninstall RealPlayer and use Real Alternative to play RealMedia files in classic media player.

There have been several threads lately with people bitching about QuickTime or RealPlayer, people post alternatives, others keep posting how much they hate them, then some of the same people are in the next thread bitching about them... sigh
