im flying my niece to see me (question about flights)

shes only 7 yrs old and she has to ride on the airplane by herself and i thought i wouldnt be too nervous about that since parents/relatives do that all the time, but im really hella nervous now.

any parents here ever do that before that can maybe put my fears at ease??

Not to worry Baba, notify the airline and they will walk you though it. It's not really a huge deal if the child in question is cool with it.

They will basicly assign a flight attendant to watch after the child while on the plane and get her to you upon arrival.

ya, i talked to the airline about it, but the gal i talked to was unsure of a few things, and that made me nervous lol she bascially told me to just check in to pick up some badge that will give me access to the gate shes flying into.

Things have changed since 9/11. Be sure and let the airline know ahead of time so those who are dropping her off and picking her up can get passes to the plane.

Several airlines charge $25 or so per segment for the flight attendants to keep an eye on them and escort them off the plane.

My son started flying by himself at 5 and always loved it!
