Don't make us log in to your special admin area (not ccbills) just to get link codes. It is a huge waste of time and annoying as hell.

Thats what i thought too. Why is there a damn login to get what I need?Comment

This is what I prefer myself.
It is convenient because all we need to do is get our affiliate ID and it is also enough to keep your average surfer out of the promo tools.

Once you login your ccbill code is in every tool VS having to change the xxxxxx I see with most non log in CCBill programs.
All our galleries, hosted TGP's, feeds, hosted blogs etc etc have your aff code in there after login (which literally take 2 seconds). I really don't see the annoying part.

Pretty simple really, there is a link on every tour to the affiliate program, so in essence it is a minor traffic leak to give out an unprotected affiliate area to the surfers. So should the program REALLY give out a ton of promo pics and vid clips to a surfer all in one place for easy grabbing? Nah. Have to have at least some separation imo. Our U/P go out in you ccbill signup confirmation letter.Comment

If you are in 300 ccbill programs and each one has its own seperate login it can be a real PITA to keep track of it all. This compunds with the fact that usually one must either wait to get the login details sent to them or manually request it. Then you have those who do not have a 'forgotten password" function either so when you forget your password you must contact them again and wait....and often wait....and wait.Once you login your ccbill code is in every tool VS having to change the xxxxxx I see with most non log in CCBill programs.

It is far better to just require the ccbill Affiliate ID (whcih we can get with our one merged login at ccbill). If you are going to require a seperate login at least include general link codes somewhere on your site so that we may simply replace the affiliate ID ith ours when this is all we need.
I don't see a reason to not put the general link codes somewhere on the site without requiring login. Doing so can often save us a lot of time and make it easier to throw up some links. And our time is also your money too. We're on the same side after all...

If you just put up an area which said:
Site 1:
refer.ccbill.com/blahblahblah/<YOURAFFILIATEIDHERE>
It can save a ton of time by not forcing us to find that login again to put up a simple link.
Or the other idea (which I've seen) is just require a valid ccbill affiliate ID to get things like link codes. A surfer isn't going to bother entering in a valid Affiliate ID to get a link code.
This is also acceptable as well for me. The ones I really have a problem with are the ones which make you request one manually. Our U/P go out in you ccbill signup confirmation letter.

What I'm taking away from this is that you'd like a non-login page where you can get basic links to all the sites / tours in the program... and then another area to which you login with a simple affiliateID / user-selected PW to get galleries and promotional tools.
Is that right?
Thanks for taking the time to post here. I find this thread helpful. Please continue to post and clarify.Comment

We had 500+ galleries available for affiliates without having to log in. Surfers get smart and post long lists on boards etc.If you are in 300 ccbill programs and each one has its own seperate login it can be a real PITA to keep track of it all. Right now we have everything in protected areas. However we do offer "lost password" links and you do not have to wait for approval. You still have easy access to it. But a surfer that plans to just randomly post a list of all galls in one place won't go through the hassle of signing up and giving his/her personal info.Comment

so, kinda like this: http://www.kickasspays.com/links.htm
???
which you can get to from the "Simple Links" link on www.kickasspays.com
(without a log in)
PS - i'll be removing the links to the galleries on the next newsletter cycle to minimize traffic leak issues.
any other reviews of this program you can give will be appreciatedComment

Sure I guess that would be easy enough to place link codes in a non protected area. May be a bit confusing then to some who wonder where the rest of the promotion stuff is though. I will think about that point for sure if it will make it easier for affiliates to get setup. But for just the affiliate link codes?
