Why Do People....[drama]

Care more about animals than humans?

I don't get it!!! There are way to many homeless people starving, so many kids ( IN AMERICA!!!! ) that go to sleep without any food in there stomachs, Africans being killed by the thousands, but at the end of the day no one cares!! I guess thats why there are 4x as many animal shelters than homeless shelters, WTF?

If yesterdays thread read "US Solider throw man off cliff" then it would've received 1/10 of the posts it did, and most likely people would've just laughed at it and been on there way to the next "donny long hot chic (pic)" thread, but I ask you why?

Is an animals life more valuable then a humans? Is it because there helpless, and just SOOOO CUTE?!?!?!?!?!? What about the starving children who are helplessly fighting a losing battle against hunger? Wait. Lets stop and look at the cute puppies, awwwwww!

Now lets stop and take a look at some adorable starving children :

Aren't they cute? Oh wait, there not! This is why the US is so backwards, because of people like YOU who generally care more about animals then they do there own neighbor, friend, or random person on the street, and I just can't understand the logic behind that kind of reasoning! I JUST CAN'T.

I ask you, the GFY lurkers or lurkington :

Is an animals ( mammal, reptile, or amphibian ) life more important then a human life?

The point I think that you, and a handful of others seem to be missing here is it's not so much _what_ life was taken as much as the _circumstances_ by which it was taken.

It seemed to be taken out of sheer enjoyment - and not any sense of duty, strategic benefit, or practical objective.

That's the issue that I think most here have objection to. It was cold-blooded murder. Let go of the fact that it's a "puppy" for a moment.

In that regard, it's genuinely fucked up - whatever the actual "life" is. I'm sure if it was a human, there'd only be more outrage.

I am an avid animal rights advocate, however that does not mean I am not also actively supporting children and hunger, or the homeless. Because the fact of the matter is, I volunteer and donate for all the above.

OUch, for some reason you have a point in there. And i myself couldn't take of the reason why but D's statement ...

How do you know people who care about animals don't care about people?

Show me some stats backing up your claims. While you're at it grab me some links to your own personal humanitarian crusades. We know you care so much about humans that you have a problem with anyone speaking out about animal cruelty so lets see what you have been up to.

I second that.

Animal cruelty I totally don't understand and can't seem to find an explanation for it, but there IS an explanation for human famine and starvation... money!

And I'm not saying I don't care, just saying I know why it's there.

Humans are there to help themselves. Animals can't. They can't tell you they are hungry or hurt.

I don't take any sides here. I am just very disappointed with people who abandon their pets or their kids.. If everyone was responsible, no one would need shelters.

I agree with you on that one
babies cant help them selfs either and ya people fall on hard times and I help people when I can, but I am the same person who bought a cheeseburger for a man at mc'd's he said he was hungry and wanted change I bought him food he through it at me!!!
