For example, when Weg first started their Ezcams program I sent 10k of quality cam traffic and was disappointed to only convert at 1:133. I then learned that they had 2 prechecked cross sales on the join page. (All this after they had "free" plastered all over their fpa's to lure the surfer to the join page) After much webmaster complaining, weg took down the cross sales on ezcams. I then sent another 10k from the same traffic source and sent it to the exact same ezcams page as I had before. This time I converted at 1:69, almost 50% better than with the cross sales.
Anyone can do this same test, just send some traffic to Weg at www.vipstream.com and then send the same amount from the same source to Epic's www.epiccams.com The two sites are almost identical looking, but notice how much the conversion ratios will differ.
Pimpdog seems determined to move his cam program forward and compete with the big boys, but in my opinion it won't ever happen until he removes the cross sales. I've talked to Epic and I know they are tied into long term obligations with sponsors on the cross sales so I've held off promoting them until they make some changes. I send high quality cam traffic to over 20 cam sponsors and track my $/unique like a hawk. With our new tiered payout, the potential to make money is even greater. In the end, it's not about the conversion ratios, it's about how much money is made.
You said WEG, you do 1:69. And when they had cross sales, you did 1:133. I'll calculate example payouts based on the ratios on the site above as well as your actual ratios (I'll use your 1:133 ratio with EZCams+Xsales for a sample Epic ratio).
Say for example you can send 25K hits in a 2 week pay period.
WEG, 1:100, 250 joins, $6250. (1:69 - $7250)
Epic, 1:114, 219 joins, $11190. (1:133 - $9270)
Bump it up to 40K hits in a 2 week pay period.
WEG: 400 joins, $10000. (1:69 - $14500)
Epic: 351 joins, $20050. (1:133 - $16550)
More than twice as much cash.
Bottom line is you'll make more money, despite our cross sales. As you can see, even if your ratio is nearly twice as high with Epic, you'll still make more money than with WEG.
