Most designers ask for half up front. I'm surprised BDS operates any differently. And yes, you pay them, try to get the revisions you want, if they can't cut it, then start a nasty thread on GFY about the company. But yea, if you make the decision to go with a design company, that's a contract. Yes, you pay it no matter what. If they're not up to par, that's your fault. You went with the wrong company. Doesn't alleviate you of your need to pay for the service provided.
