GTA: San Andreas is now "AO"?

I still dont see the point of the Adult Only rating. My brothers and his friends are like 12, 13 and they still manage to get the game and play it. So rating dont mean anything for games.

some of the more responsible/strict parents will see the rating and not let their kids get a copy/take theirs away

Stores like Walmart, Circuit City, and other of the like won't carry it if it has that rating, they have already removed it from their shelves...

Whats the big deal though. So they saw a little sex scene on a game. I started wathing full on porn when i was 14 and had sex at 13. (yeah had sex before i watched a porn movie, weird huh?)

You are the example that proves the point.

Kids should NOT be having sex at 13 and 14 kids should NOT be looking at porn at 13 and 14( and yes I did, doesn't make it right ). My kid is 10 and I never get him or rent him M rated games. If it's a T I usually do but I check it out first. My friend let's his 10 year old and 8 year old play GTA games and such. I don't agree with that, but they aren't my kids.

Ratings don't mean shit ... and it shouldn't either. The PARENTS are responsible for what their kid play . If they can't take the time to monitor what their kid do on the internet or while playing a video game, it's thier own damn fault if the kids turn out to be violent .

Funny you should say that, because they are redoing the game, and removing the sex scenes, so that they can get their M rating back, and get the big stores to put it back on the shelves.

So.... if you don't have an original copy now, better get one, they are gonna be worth $$$... look for them on Ebay soon I am sure.

I see. I hadn't heard that. Either way, it's just more advertising for the game. If you were 13 and didn't want it before, you sure do now.

I really do not have a problem with them inserting this kind of content into the game and I am a parent. I am far more concerned about my child beating someone to death in a game with a four-way tire iron to steal their ice cream truck so they can go sell drugs to make more fake money than I am about them watching two poorly rendered 3D models hump each other.

I really enjoy that game but it never should have been in the hands of a child in the first place. For me it isn't about the sex but the violence that adults can understand as often tonuge in cheek that kids might not.

Rating systems and standards are merely for those that need to be told what is and what is not okay, which are usually discussed amongst the religious folk.

The ratings system is to let parents know what the game contains, so the parent doesn't have to play the game all the way through before they decide to let their kids have it.

Personally I wouldn't want my 10 year old learning about sex and sexuality from a game like GTA. But then, I'd rather not have a 10 year old know the difference between an Ingram and an UZI, so there you have it.

People seem to forget what they were like when they were kids.

Funny, a 14-year old is expected to work and learn life's little lessons, but the can not have sex (with people in their age group).

Sounds/reads like history taught most peeps nothing.

(At no point am I advocating CP, I simply feel a 13-year olds and so on are NOT a children!)

Plus, the game is not telling children to have sex. And what about all the content in the mainstream world? Sex is everywhere, but it is only a problem when it hits your back yard ... A typical NIMBY mentality!

As far as I am concerned, yes, it is.
Love interests lasting an entire movie (like the final episode of SW) are not neccessary, but you do not see crusades against.

One-minute people want our industry to be mainstream, and the next, not: the moment someone puts it in a game, it is automatically bad.

Is the sudden flip because you (whomever forbodes) relate the word ?game? to children (adults do not play games?), or merely because it's suddenly hit home (but before that, chances are you were all for it)?

Best increase the security on that closet you have the offspring locked in.
