Ali G, jew, singing about killing jews? wtf

I read a story yesterday about Ali G getting into trouble with
some Jewish groups for singing an anti-Semitic song at some
redneck tavern in some shit hole somewhere.

one of my guys found the video today, and the shit is true.

sasha cohen is 110% jewish, so why the fuck would he
sing stupid shit like this?

Some people just wont get the point of the joke & will take Borat's words at face value. This was the fear of the ADL that prompted the ALI G story on CNN last night. Init funny, though that the episode in question was on weeks ago, and it is not until Sasha appears on the Stern show yesterday that the shit starts to hit the fan.

Theres one where he's the gay guy and he goes to "pro america rally" and it ends which the organizer calling him a fucking faggot. The whole point of the show is to make everyone look like the idiots they are. You should see the ones where he interviews people in the fashion industry. Or the one with Pat Buchanan.

If you take the song out of the context of the show it appears offensive. Watch the whole show and you'll understand. Sure theres a level of shock value but there really is an underlying message to the show.

That bar - "The Country West" - is right here in my home town (and location of the TopBucks office) in Tucson, AZ. My wife and I laughed our asses off watching that, and then when we finally regained our composure, she looked over at me and said "You realize that we have to move now, right?" LOL

The whole thing with this being supposedly "anti-semetic" humor just demonstrates once again what Tom Lehrer (another brilliant Jewish satirist) has said many times over the years; people just don't get satire. To wit, in his song/invective against empty political correctness "National Brotherhood Week" - released back in the early 60's, to give you an idea of just how ahead of his time Lehrer really was - Lehrer sang:

"The Catholics hate the Protestants
and the Protestants hate the Catholics,
The Muslims hate the Hindus
and everybody hates the Jews."

The line caused a bit of a furor back then, less than 20 years after the end of WW II, despite the fact that Lehrer is Jewish (although, as he admits, in his family "it is more about the deli than the synagogue"), and the line is clearly a satirical joke.

Some people get satire, others don't. Another classic example - "Springtime for Hitler" from Mel Brooks' The Producers... the list goes on and on.
