Seen a guy get hit by a car yesterday....

I was sitting in my wife's work's parking lot, having lunch with her in the car. Straight across the street from was was a gas station and a busy street. I seen the guy come dashing out into the street, not at the crosswalk, and knew that he was going to be hit. There was a SUV coming that just didn't have time to stop. The SUV plowed into him and sent him flying a good 20 - 25 feet. As soon as he landed, I jumped out of my car with my cell phone ready to call 911 as I was running to where he was laying in the street. He layed in the ground and I could tell he was in pain. Then, somehow, he managed to stand up and told me he was okay. I saw his knee bleeding pretty bad, and his chest and stomach had a ton of roadrash. By that time, a off duty cop had stopped and came over to us and called the accident in. The guy that was hit kept swearing to us that he gets hurt all the time, and that he was perfectly okay. Even though blood was pouring out of his knee. I kept thinking that he might have some internal injuries. Few minutes later a firetuck came and wanted to take him to the hospital, but he refused. I told him he should go, incase something inside got fucked up. I don't think the guy realised how hard he got hit. The guy told me that his uncle was across the street getting some gas. (the guy who was hit was a little slow, the cop told me he didn't think that this guy was capable of making his own decisions, and it was probably a good idea to go get the uncle). His uncle ended up being a dick and told everyone, "he's a tough kid, if he says he's alright then he's alright, everyone back up!".

The lady who hit him was shaken up pretty damn bad. I went over to her and asked her if she was alright. She was just concerned about the guy. I told the cop that it wasn't the ladies fault at all. She had no choice but to hit him. There was a crosswalk about 20 feet up the street from where he got hit. No idea why he didn't use it.

Anyways, I waited a few minutes incase I needed to make a statement, but they didn't need me because he refused treatment. I told the guy to be careful next time, and good luck. The guy was really lucky IMO. It freaks you out when you see someone get smacked with a car and go flying. My wife was shaken up pretty bad too just from seeing it. This all happend directly in front of where we were parked.

Oh, also, there was some punk ass kids across the street that were laughing at him when he got hit. They were yelling shit like "damn you got fucked up!!", so I told them to shut their fucking mouths and get the fuck out of here. The cop got on their asses too. I hate punk ass teenagers.

He probably didn't have insurance and his uncle didn't want to pay the possible hospital bills. Some people are like that with money, it's pretty sad really.

I thought the same exact thing, or the uncle had warrents or something. He was in a hurry to get out of there. Stupid fucker should have been worrying if his nephew was okay or not. "Yeah there's a puddle of blood on the ground from your knee, but lets hop back in the Caprice and head on home".

That's nuts. I saw a girl get shot ten feet from me when I was 14. I had just been chatting with her, too.

I witnessed something like that only it wasn't a stranger that got hit. It was my sister who was like 8 years old at the time. That was a very bad thing to see a week before xmas. Oddly enough, the driver's last name was Clause.
