    GFY Book Club

Seems like a nice way to get some threads not purely about "would you hit it" and stuff like that on GFY every once in a while.

Basically, every month a bunch of people from GFY could decide on a book to read and discuss it in a thread at the end of the month.
I know for a fact that some of you could use all the culture you can get, and it could be a good way to find stuff you'd otherwise never read.

    Anyone up for it?

PS. I haven't slept all night and just came back from running a few miles, so if this a particularly weird idea, don't blame me, blame the lack of sleep

anything with pop ups or an interactive story where you decide the ending would probably do okay.

Who needs the majority? There are so many people on GFY that even a minority could very well have enough people to make this interesting.

Besides, think of the cognitive dissonance this will cause with law enforcement officers and such who are monitoring GFY

Nice idea.. but maybe not for the masses at GFY.

Count me in though if you do organize something.

exactly... but what if the book chosen is not their type? would you judge them by their posts? personally, i don't read books if i don't like the first chapter or if i'm not familiar with the author

One of the most interesting things of stuff like this is that you get to read stuff you might otherwise have never read at all.

If you *really* don't like the book, though, nobody is forcing you to read it and post about it. Hell, you can even stick with reading what others say about it and then pretending you read it to friends

By the way, I think you just passed 10k posts without noticing

Intensity from Dean Koontz is an amazing book that is very hard to put down. I suggest it to anyone that likes a good scary mystery

Also.. Devils Knot ... I can not remember who wrote this but It is a true story and a very good book. You will be amazed at the events that actually happened..

                                Have a great night :-)

I read probably 2 books a week minimum. I can't usually fall asleep until I've read for an hour or so to unwind.

                                    Alright Im in...

I need to start reading again. After not reading books and reading so many mispelled words on this board... I could really use some culture.

Probably just mixed literature. A vote would probably be a good way to decide what to read.
