I'm still getting attacked from NEC corp in JAPAN. This morning, it's mostly coming from 218.227.184.253 . Whoever it is has gained access to a LOT of computer resources, and is sending dozens of requests per second to my machines.

I'm working with verio and NEC to get the problem sorted out, and I apprecite your patience.

Well guys, at a total loss for what to do, I am now packet filtering most of Japan. I just hope that will be enough.

My apologies to anyone who was profiting from Japanese traffic. I will restore japanese service as soon as possible.

I am now only blocking out NEC Corporation in Japan. Blocking NEC Corporation has reduced my traffic by 33%. Now is that freaky or what?

what kind of "requests" are they?

"dozens" isn't much, especially spanned across multiple machines. hell, on a single machine of mine i get at least 30 http requests per second, and that's pretty weak too
