    hits VS buys - Google Adword, SE, and TGPs

    since you all have been very good to me these past times, I will show some detailed information on one of my sites.

    Like anyone cares.


    I have been tracking traffic source against cetain varialbes.

    8-1-2004 thru 8-20-2004

    SE (total front page hits) = 7002
    SE (total join page his) = 1570
    SE (total buys) = 27
    SE (#hits to buy) = 259.3

    Google Adwords (total front page hits) = 9512
    Google Adwords (total join page his) = 675
    Google Adwords (total buys) = 10
    Google Adwords (#hits to buy) = 951.2

    TGP (total front page hits) = 7002
    TGP (total join page his) = 1570
    TGP (total buys) = 27
    TGP (#hits to buy) = 259.3


    Total CC purchase only: 3116 (1-1 thru 8-20)


    I have realize that Adword costs more that buying TGP spots. I emailed them and asked if they could lower my per-click-rate down to 3 cents. Google"good idea, we'll pass it along".

    I only worked for 12 days straight to do the SE optimiztion. Looks like I should do it again for this site.

      what searchqueries/keywords did you get SE/adwords hits for?

          I guess you don't target your adword traffic enough ...

          if you pay 5 cent per hit @ adword that's like 45 $ per signup

                              Sorry, but if you're only converting 1:900 on adwords then your sponor is shaving the shit out of you or you really suck at using adwords as a means of promotion.

                                      I didn't have much luck with Adwords and your stats look normal to me

                                          thats correct. But for some reason they paid 3.6 cent per hit during that time period.

                                          Sometimes they will allow a lot of hits over your daily limit but then only charge you for your daily limit. Weird.
