Hard to say. I know that luck has played a role in getting to where I am now. I'd certain be as dogged and relentless as I've always been, but there's people I know with superhuman work ethic that just plain ol' don't get the breaks and still end up slaving away for a pittance.
So... yes, I would. With a little luck.

I just don't believe most of the "industry leaders," or a lot of the people who started pre 2000 could start today and make it to the same place they are now.

I'm inclined to think the same way. However, your answer doesn't take into account one thing, aside from money and knowledge, that these people have. They have CONNECTIONS in the industry and that is one of the main reasons why many of them still are where they are and haven't been run over by fresh blood. That was my thought process and why I asked the question. Besides the increase in competition and all the other variables; rules and regs , etc., I am sure I could make a nice living, but in no way generate the profit as quickly as I did 4 years ago.
