I never have any trouble - If I piss someone off they will use the "fag" thing but thats normally just a way of getting at me rather than a homophobic thing.

I don't think it's as much of a homophobe as much as it is a resentment - latent or not. I think at some point the double standard (in either race or sexual orientation) starts to wear people the wrong way and let me give you an example of what I mean.

Look at these two statement:
I have a gay friend.
I have a friend that is gay.

Both are wrong. Why can't you just have a friend without the need to bring sexual orientation into the conversation. At times it appears people want equality and individualism at the same time. People who are "something" want and demand that you know that they are that "something". Instead of just "being a person" some shout out that they are "being a gay person".

In race related issues (though a different analogy of the same subject) we've all heard the term African American and yes there are a few that do enjoy dual citizenship but if your mom and dad were both born in the United States - you're an American - period. Africa America doesn't appear on any map.

Shout for equality - but have a Miss Black America pagent and the BET station. Would blacks get riled up in caucasions entered the Miss Black America pagent?

Ellen Degeneris used to have a show and it was damned funny to start with. They made sure you were entertained and no one cared (though everyone knew) she was gay - to making damned sure you knew she was gay and not caring if you were entertained.

People - and that goes for all people need to just "be" - not "be gay" or "be black".
