A good brushless setup will hall ass! Electrics sound damn cool too. I just prefer the nitros.

It sounds like you might be runing a bit lean. Do you check your engine temps? Also, how new is the motor? Do you use a "afterburn" oil after every run?
These guys would know better than me though. (you have to register, but it's a HUGE R/C truck forum)
