    recommend me a good 5.1 dolby digital speaker system!

    hey guys, I already have a DVD player and I already have a PS2

    but looking for a pretty kickass 5.1 dolby digital home theater sound system for my living room

    under 300$ will be preferable

                                  Klipsch rock, what would be a kickass receiver to go with something like that? Would that be a good setup for surround sound and big screen etc? Seems rather small speakers although I do know that they put out a ton of sound. Just wondering how they are for movies etc or are they more for music.

                                              a speaker system like Klipsch will sound a lot better with some serious wattage going into it... so go with separate components..

                                                  chances are your dvd player only has the signal for sound, not the watts to power the speakers.

                                                      You may as well go with 6 or even 7.1 at this point, 5.1 will be outdated before you want to buy a new system.
