Amazing how limited competition in processing will cause a big company to sit around and do nothing to fix their stats when numerous people says that they suck. If there were 10-15 viable billing companies around you bet your ASS that Paycom's stats would be top notch.

no kidding, the stats are horrible... and at this point in my sites life.. i NEED to know what is not doing well... and clickthroughs from page 1, to page 2, to join page... so i can see what needs tweaking...

right now my ratios are not good ( to put it lightly ) ... so i need to know where the problem is so i can try different things...

and thats where NATS comes in

edit: because i was trying like english was my 6th language

You're just starting out. In the beginning keep your overhead low. Don't expect overnight success, and especially don't expect some third party solution to be your magic bullet.

You are already facing an uphill battle - don't make it harder right from the get go, by purchasing expensive overkill software for what your immediate needs are.

NATS will be the same price (or lower) when you actually need it, and when you have proven that you can afford it.

Oh well, too late I guess...

My advice would have been to be patient, and work diligently on your own marketing first Grasshopper. There are many ways to obtain stats. The only stats that count however are the ones which impact your bottom line.

If you want some sound free advice from someone who has been there and done that, e-mail me. Otherwise keep throwing what little resources you have into the internet sinkhole that you have already not only fallen into, but paid for.

To be sure, I was not happy with iBill's performance over the past year (I went about six months without payment from iBill). However, I was one of the fortunate ones because I am diversified and also operate web sites not under iBill. Oh yes, and I own and operate a mainstream business that makes more than all of my adult business combined (although I expect that to change over the next year).

I could have written off iBill, but I hung in there because I could, and because I knew that if they could turn around their business, I would continue to reap the huge rebills that I had accumulated through them. I continue to experience record growth each month as a result of my decison to not panic and cut and run (again, I understand many people could not afford to make that decision - I simply figured it was cheaper for me than what my legal fees would have been).

Only the future will determine if this was the best course of action (iBill still owes me two large settlement payments). In the meantime I continue to diversify as a hedge against my bet on iBill, and make record profits, so I'm happy for now.

With all that said, I was simply trying to give SoS some free advice on how he can make his business more profitable through working smarter, instead of spending money on expensive programs that offer no guarantee of payback, especially in the short term.

Although you claim to operate the #1 Adult Personals web site, your numbers pale in comparison to your competitors. So I feel that I am not the one trying to blow smoke up SoS's butt. I have not advised him to use iBill, nor was I planning to.

I also read with amusement this post on your site (ranked 2,120,813 on Alexa):

Payouts for 4/16 - 4/30 will be sent within the first few days of June.
Certainly sounds like you run a profitable business, paying people more than a month behind.

Not trying to pick a fight. I just don't appreciate it when someone tries to jump on my sh*t for trying to offer a newbie some free advice.

My free advice to you is to focus on your own business before attacking mine, since I can at least afford to pay my bills on time.

I'm not attacking your business I'm simply lauging at someone who is still using iBill offering advice to others. You probably do just fine business wise and I hope you do. You jumped into a thread out of no where and informed someone how my product will be a waste of their money. You're the one doing the "attacking" as you like to call it.

Alexa rankings are next to meaningless as one site can have 10k hits/day and make far far more than a site doing 500k hits/day. However, since you seem to like them:

I wasn't attacking your product in particular, but rather the idea that someone apparently quite new to the business would run out and spend a substantial amount of money on something that may not be essential to making his business turn a short turn profit, which for someone starting out in business might (or in my opinion should) be a concern.

There are many ways to turn a profit without spending your money on unnecessary expenses. That is what many people with sound business practices do. That in part is why they are successful.

I understand now you're trying to make a buck off of the kid, so that maybe then you can pay the people you owe money to on time. Fine. That wasn't altogether clear at the beginning.

I apologize for offering free advice, with no strings attached.

And laughing at him still using iBill makes you not really look as the star here, quite a few large sellers still use iBill in case you did not know.

If he didn't mean it that way than I misinterpreted it and I appologize. However when the person in question here who was looking at NATS icq's me and says "wow, this guy really doesn't want me to use NATS" I tend to have a bit of a gut reaction. I also do disagree with him. If you have to rub nickles together to feed your kids you shouldn't be buying NATS when first starting your site. However if you can afford it, which the person in question here (SoS) certainly can then it is a great tool to help you get your paysite going by making many things easier and less time consuming to do. ADG simply jumped out of nowhere and started to inform a prospective sale how much of a waste our software would be for him. Surely you can see why I wouldn't enjoy that

Re: IBill large players using them or not I still believe anyone processing through them is out of their mind.

Perhaps we offered him a discount or offered him a payment plan for the initial expenses as we often do for many people just getting started out. You don't know all the facts about this specific situation and both him and myself got the feeling you were telling him it was a big mistake.

Talk to our clients before you assume we're just here trying to make a buck off people, we work with them in many many ways. We've given free months to people who have been struggling and gone out of our way in both technical and non-technical support ways to help them in any we can to succeed. If they win, we win. We offer a $150 level of NATS in the hopes that they will one day grow into a full NATS customer and we will both benefit from it. We're not the bad guys looking to make a quick buck and run, we're here for the long haul.

I appologize if I took your post as more insulting than you meant it. And you're absolutely right in your main point. When you're first starting out spending money on unneeded expenses is one of the worst things you can do. NATS is a very affordable program in the big picture (look at the amount you pay in 3rd party processing fees every year) and offers many features and benefits which you could not make use of without it. If you have the money for it you will absolutely benefit from having it. If you don't have the money for it you, as with anything, should be spending your money on something you need more. In this case SoS does have the money for it and will benefit from it.

As I said, you don't know the specifics of SoS's business, my business, nor this particular deal so to immediately assume it is a bad idea for him is a big assumption.

If there were 10-15 viable billing companies around you bet your ASS that Paycom's stats would be top notch.
maybe epoch doesn't want to process for a lot of those smaller amateur paysites that ccbill gets because of their stats

Come and talk to me when you've been in this business long enough to know what's going on.
The link to my Alexa numbers that you provided for my Asian Diva Girls web site (only one of several sites I operate) didn't work for me. For anyone who cares, my Alexa rank as of today is 129,942.

Certainly not the highest, but I am sure that my site is much more profitable than many sites ranked above it.

Considering that I spend zero on net advertising, have no affiliates, and operate no fake traffic scams, I think that's not bad. More importantly, my conversion ratio is extremely high since I provide unique exclusive content and have a very loyal customer base, which I have been developing during over 5+ years in the adult industry.

As I have stated before, I am not here to fight about the relative merits of NATS. I was simply trying to offer some free advice to someone that I felt might benefit from my free advice (and whom I know has been ripped off before).

SoS, if you need any advice, free or otherwise, please consult PBucksJohn since he obviously knows much more that I do,

I apologize for trying to offer my free help. That was so un-GFY like of me.
