    LOL at FireFox

    SpreadFirefox.com, the community marketing Web site for the open-source Firefox Web browser, was hacked earlier this week, potentially exposing user data.

      Well let's see they brag about how they are hack proof and use the motto "the browser you can TRUST". It's called OWNAGE.

        no website is "hack proof" the browser however is damn close to it though. I've been using firefox since it came out and haven't had 1 instance where i've been hijacked and have 0 spyware on my computer after I ditched IE

          They have never said they are hack proof. Furthermore, spreadfirefox.com is an independent website, not mozilla's official website. It's just a community started by some guy...

            It's kind of like having sex with strangers. If you don't use a rubber you are going to get something eventually. Anyone can protect their computer no matter which browser they use.

              What WOULD be funny is if the web site was being run on a windows server!

              I can't however seen how you related what people are calling a safe browser to a web site. The web site doesn't run on mozilla; mozilla is not an operating system. I fail to see your point and more importantly, I fail to see the funny side of this.

              P.S. = I use IE
              Programming today is a race between software engineers striving to build bigger and better idiot-proof programs, and the Universe trying to produce bigger and better idiots. So far, the Universe is winning.

                I don`t think the server is running Firefox , so I don`t see what`s funny.
                The website is independent from the mozilla foundation.
                I also don`t find funny the millions of owned computers around the world thanks to IE and MS`s inferior products...

                            Exactly... last time I checked, the FireFox people didn't write the code for Linux or Apache so I'm not sure how hacking a server could have anything to do with the Firefox browser.

                                  BTW how do you propose to protect yourself from an exploit in IE which will automatically install a virus/spyware without any consent (you won't even notice it).

                                    You sound like someone that knows more about computers that anyone on the board. and the funny thing is, some of the guys that are on here that have gotten burned, have their computers protected better than most, and some of those guys could right the code for the damn browsers, and anti virus programs.

                                    But, since you seem to know more than the rest, tell us how to avoid all the virus that are out there.
