For awhile we "were" going to attend until I found out the hotel was on lockdown.
Talent aside, due to my dissability I am unable to travel without a companion. So that would of been an extra 300.00 just so I could attend.
Then we had planed on bringing 3-4 girls with us, extra 900-1200.00 ontop of rooms, food, airfair.

So badge cost alone would of been 7-8 people (2100.00 to 2400.00) when only 2 people would be doing any networking. We could not justify spending 1050.00 to 1200.00 per actual networker just in badge value.

Basic breakdown would of been: (assume 7 people)
Airfair: 3100.00 (approx).
Food/drinks:4000.00 (approx).
Hotel: 5400.00 (approx).
Badges: 2100.00
Base total: 14,600.00 (zero listed for spending money, cabs, and so on).

I like shows and all but spending that is just not justifiable.

This is so funny it reminds me when i was 12 I had a lemonade stand and I would get al the cute girls from around the block to hold up signs for me.

I made about $80 a day doing that weekends only ofcourse

If you were paying 12,500 it would have been a great value, but at 14,600 it's a rip?

your talking about $2100 per person, and $300 is the difference between justified and waste? 15% is all it takes?

The extra badge cost was not the only factor in making this choice, it just added to it. Lack of a central show floor was a bigger problem, and yeah I just love the idea of sitting pool side in my chair.
As for the 2100.00 per person, that is the ticket value to the two attendies who would be doing any real business, so yes I did feel it was steep.

Then what really had me perturbed was even if I just went myself with my companion, I am forced into buying that person a badge due to my dissability. An extra 300.00 because I am dissabled in effect is not something I will endorse or go for regardless.

Well probably be at the bar most of the time or walking around the show, but I agree, $300 a pop is expensive...

I kind of hope a hurricane comes in that weekend, so I can cancel the whole trip....
