    ?Elderly Opportunity Seekers,?

    htttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/InfoUSA

InfoUSA was involved in a controversy centered around the sale of data lists to a third party which were used by fraudulent telemarketers. [1]

Supposedly, InfoUSA advertised lists of ?Elderly Opportunity Seekers,? 3.3 million older people ?looking for ways to make money,? and ?Suffering Seniors,? 4.7 million people with cancer or Alzheimer?s disease. ?Oldies but Goodies? contained 500,000 gamblers over 55 years old, for 8.5 cents apiece. One list said: ?These people are gullible. They want to believe that their luck can change.? A subsequent press release denied these allegations[2], and the State of Iowa cleared InfoUSA of all wrong doing in their investigation.

infoUSA currently has Paul Pelosi Jr., on its payroll who is Nancy Pelosi's son. Paul Pelosi Jr. is also employed at Countrywide Financial.[3]

InfoUSA was founded in 1972 by Vinod Gupta, Chairman and CEO. The headquarters are located in Omaha, NE, USA. The company employs over 5,000 people in 88 offices worldwide. Vinod Gupta belongs to Rampur Maniharan, a small town near Saharanpur in Uttar Pradesh state. He has also set up a Polytechnic for women at this place which has greatly improved education facilities for the women there. The Polytechnic was inaugurated by the former US President Bill Clinton.
