I propose MAJOR MOD reform

Let's state the obvious. The moderation of GFY is, to put it mildly, PATHETIC. I understand that Lens probably wants to keep it in the family, but there are SEVERAL trustworthy people on GFY who would be EXCELLENT moderators.

This board only has six mods. There should be AT LEAST 10 more, each with the authority to ban creeps like Masterblogger. He has posted several links to CP in other threads and I have heard that the links are still active. If that site got even ONE sign up as a result of the links posted on GFY, that is ONE TOO MANY and GFY should be ashamed.

Here are some people who I believe would make excellent mods and who post quite regularly.

Why is it people think current GFY members need to be mods?

Do you honestly think it takes that much to run a board.

All it takes is offering college kids $6-$8 an hour to come on board and watch it...you can have 4 - 6 hour shifts, or 6 - 4 hour shifts...they cannot post...they cannot do anything other than close threads, warn posters etc.

There are plenty of successful boards out there that employ this method and only allow the mods when issuing warnings to do so via email cutting and pasting from a written set of warnings, and when their is a banning they cut and paste from the same form and there is an appeal process.

You do not need anyone from this board doing the job it won't be fun for them, and they would be biased...you will have a person acting as a mod who could be a direct competitor in biz over people he/she is supposed to moderate.

It's not rocket science...jeez I don't know what it takes to set something so simple in place.

It has nothing to do with censorship..there's a link here right not to CP..and the moderators and owners of this board have been notified...they are required by law to edit that link....and the longer that link stays up they are putting themselves into a precarious position..it would be in Lensman's best interest to put real moderators in place.

but i also agree with eroswebmaster and the way to do it...hire some kids to do it, and they can't post, they just moderate the board

Geez! Thanks for clearing that up for me. I will not be able to sleep tonight realizing that the one and only RICH (real original nick, btw) has no respect for me.
