Many, many pre-registered attendees from the previous show expressed their preference for this in order to avoid long line-ups. They will still have to show ID at the hotel (to avoid admitting minors) but it will speed things up a lot. Of course, anyone who loses their badge mid-flight will still be able to go to registration and get a new one.
