A scenario where this may be helpful: Let's say someone decides your idea is worth pursuing, takes it, and cuts you out. With the luck you've had with past employers, I wouldn't be surprised if this somehow ends up fucking you over in some way or another. But you now have a mainstream news source to loosely tie you to the project.
