    I know that this is very un-american, but a new play opened recently in London, and Toronto's Globe and Mail published a review in today's edition.

    Review

    Talking to Terrorists ends on a chilling note, and one that has particular resonance this week. "How can you judge me unless you have lived the life I have lived?" asks the former head of the al-Aqsa Martyrs Brigade. "Do you want me to think logically like you, my British friends . . . you, who gave my country to the Israeli . . . and you who are behind all the trouble in Ireland . . . all the trouble in South Africa . . . all the trouble in India? What do you know of hopelessness and despair?"

              That is the type of attitude that shows how true this quote is - you don't understand their mindsite in the least. People without hope and despair are not looking to "make things better" by blowing people up. They are at a point where the loss of the life, even their own, means absolutely nothing to them.

              For certain people in countries like Iraq, Afghanistan, etc. their despair is only resolved by the salvation brought by a "holy act" - destroy the infidel and you will achieve immortality in the afterlife.
