I love threads like this and we've had a lot lately. Somebody comes along and does/says something genuinely very stupid and then spends the next 50 posts trying to justify the original as not being stupid and digging a deeper hole.

Must admit I almost admire the defence in this one that everybody else has a problem because they don't agree with something plainly pretty loopy to begin with and are not afraid to voice that. Classic.
