My mother (in the U.S.) got married at 15, and it was nothing unusual 40 years ago or so. It's only recently that 14-18 year olds are considered children. In my opinion, they should be treated as slightly stupid young adults. That's not to say I thing 14- year-old girls should be cruising the singles bars... I just don't think their 17-year-old boyfriends should go to prison for getting a little too enthusiastic and getting them pregnant.

?!? Legally there's no minimum age.. two 12yo can have sex and it will not be considered illegal.. Age of consent is 14 tho... even if I have a feeling that a 48yo sleeping with a 14yo would get arrested... or at least local news shows would make a story on the guy... that is a certainty.. The parents took a 44 year old US Male to court to stop an internet affair and marriage but was unsuccesful in protecting the 14 year old girl. AND I MEAN GIRL - not woman.
No adolescent on the planet should be having partner sex of any kind until their hormones are done changing their body ! None - anywhere!
