    Tape?

How much and how often do you back up?

2 Matox 250 gig "one touch", One backs up my server, the other backs up the back up. I am thinking of getting a third so I can back up the one that backs up the back up.

I backup daily to a second harddrive... and my server also comes with 40 GB of remote storage on another computer which I backup to weekly.

Although, anything hosted with us is automatically backed up.

For backing up your server, we normally use rsync, rdist along with some custom
cron jobs and scripts we designed for the purpose. We have tape silos as well and
other brand name software, however for most people the rsync works just perfect and it's cheap.

We also do NFS mounts to central disk librarians (a server filled with a huge raid array) and backup stuff that way too. This way your system appears to have another hard drive installed in it, but it's really on the private network we set up for it.

                                                Incidentally,
If you are in need of a server to backup to, we can set you up cheap!
We will configure the backup services for you at no charge when you get your backup or dedicated hosting server with SplitInfinity.
