I wouldn't ever recomend it unless you find the car on ebay and check it out BEFORE you bid (I know this seems obvious, but at one point, I was not so bright, luckily, I only had minor problems).
I bought my car from autotrader - I'd imagine you could find some reasonable priced G35s there as well. I'd reccomend getting ANY car you are thinking of buying from a private thouroughly checked out at a dealership or speciality mechanic before considering the purchase.
We replaced my daughter's car after it was totaled on Ebay. No problems and we sold the totaled one as a salvage. We got 2200 for it when the insurance company recommended a wholesaler who would give us 800 for it.
I bought my first Land Rover on ebay.com about 4 years ago. A year later we bought my fiancee a Wrangler. Both times we got a great deal and great cars. Just make sure they have a LOT of feedback regarding car sales.
I know people who have bought and sold cars on ebay. They were very happy. Buyers didn't see the cars (used) until they arrived to pick them up. I, personally, would never buy an expensive item from a personal seller on ebay.
