    New Jersey Governor Resigns After Admitting To Gay Affair

    (AP) - In a stunning declaration, Gov. James E. McGreevey announced his resignation Thursday and acknowledged that he had an extramarital affair with another man. "My truth is that I am a gay American," he said with his wife by his side at a nationally televised news conference. "Shamefully, I engaged in adult consensual affairs with another man, which violates my bonds of matrimony," the twice-married father of two said. "It was wrong, it was foolish, it was inexcusable." The Democrat said his resignation would be effective Nov. 15

      I fail to see how being involved in an extramarital relationship, gay or not, makes a person suddenly unfit for office.

                                                      I agree with you there, but from what I have heard on the most recent reports he let his love life get entangled with his job as governor, and made some bad decisions and a lawsuit against him or the state or both is pending as a result. Gay, straight or bi, I guess that is grounds to tender your resignation (if it's true). Someone wise once told me "never fuck where you make your buck" - sage advice.

                                                              His wife is sitting next to him, the guy has two kids, and he says, "I'm a gay American." Huh? If i were married and my wife declared herself a lesbian to the world, I'd feel owned.
