Stereotypes come into being for a reason. There is usaully some truth to them. You yourself commented that most hispanics in s. cal are illegal. Is this a stereotype? Yes, it is. Is it a reality? Yes, it is. See how it works?
EDIT - "most" isn't even correct. Change that to "a lot."
