Yeah, the LAPD is known for being very prompt as well. Not.
As for the home invasion paranoia, I believe that is the ONLY time I am ever at ease enough to be ambushed.
Out in the world, I am always on guard as if in enemy territory.
The worst crimes I have seen, or at least torture wise are home invasions, and in addition, sure ya know... the worst shit happens to those who do not expect it. Even if prepared, if but a little, the difference could be a big difference.
In california, we are known for leaving our fucking windows open all the time, and often I forget one, I have an even bigger fear of coming home to a robbery in progress or something like that as well.
I am only afraid of things I am unprepared for. It stems from my anxiety I am sure.
Anxiety sucks on all levels.
