    Artist faces jail time for mural of topless Michelangelo's Eve

    Good for the Sistine Chapel in Rome, but not so for the good old USA !

    ROSEVILLE, Mich. - A topless Eve may be good enough for the Sistine Chapel at the Vatican in Rome but it doesn't fly in Roseville, Mich.

    Authorities are threatening to jail artist Edward Stross for reproducing Michelangelo's masterpiece of the bare-breasted Eve.

    Stross says he's just trying to brighten up the community with the mural outside his studio. But officials contend the painting violates a 1997 deal that grants Stross an exemption from a local sign ordinance.

    Authorities say Stross agreed not paint words, breasts or genitals on the side of his studio.

    Stross is to appear in court next month, and faces up to 90 days in jail if convicted.
