What field do you think you can get into and not be razzed by your elders? The military? Construction? Trucking? Medical? Mining? You name it. Whatever field you get into, when you start out, you're gonna get shat on. That's one of the ways the system weeds out the weak. If you can't handle it you should consider a job at the DMV.
Some of the established folks on this board are the military equivalent of drill sargents. They will work you're ass into the ground. But you'll only get respect if you pull yourself up from your bootstraps and fight to get up to the top of the industry. I'd much rather work with someone that's fought a few battles and had their share of hard knocks than someone who at the first sign of emotional or physical discomfort starts bitching about the work conditions.
The folks that have been around a while and are making money deserve respect. Whether they treat you like shit or not. The people at the top have the advantage of being able to shit on the folks below them. It's one of the perks of being at the top. Unless you want more turds directed in your way you should consider what they have to offer vs yourself before you go off. It's easy to say you're gonna build an adult empire but some of these folks have gone much futher than words and done so.
So take what wisdom they hand you and use it as best you can. And maybe with time and luck you'll have the ability laugh at the errors of so many more newbies to come. You'll watch them as they repeat all the previous errors that have been so documented but not understood.
And regardless of whether you all agree or disagree you can go fuck yourselves.
