Yeah, helping them is nice, but this isn't the way. They really need to do something about the completely corrupt governments and the lack of any sort of education.
Fighting AIDS in Africa is a joke. The only thing they should be doing is teaching prevention. They can't treat them fast enough down there as the last time I read about it, AIDS is spreading there faster than they can even track. Prevention is the key as the people who already have it are as good as dead.
If they can't afford to eat, how can they afford the drugs to keep those people alive? It's fucked.
Bono could sell the estimated near 1-billion net worth of U2 and not make a dent in the poverty in Africa. Africa needs changes of the most basic level.
