honestly, i have nothing against anyone with physical disabilities having children. but when it comes to mental disabilities i believe there should be a line drawn. i feel that the kids would be unsafe.
imagine there was a small kitchen fire, or the parents wanted to have their child sleep in the same bed, etc...
i dont believe that they would understand how fragile a child is.

My mom owns a business that manages the finances of mentally and developmentally disabled people. She has two clients that are retarded and married with a child and its SO sad. They are definitely not capable of taking care of her. The child mostly lives with her grandparents.
The retarded womans parents were worried about her getting pregnant before it happened so they looked into their options and found out its illegal to have a retarded person get a hysterectomy or vasectomy even if you are the legal guardian.
So its a little crazy that the social security admin requires these people to have a legal guardian and financial representative but they are allowed to have kids.Comment
