I'm moving to Florida in November, and am doing some house shopping. I'm going their for college, and it is located in Winter Park...is that a nice community compared to the other parts of Orlando? Should I get a home in Winter Park or somewhere else? Price is not an issue.

I think Winter Park is a shit hole. You should really check it out and spend more than a week there before deciding on moving there. You will see why....Comment

Winter Park just sucks less than other areas of Orlando. If you like ghettos and constant thunderstorms... Orlando is the perfect place to be!

The real Winter Park is one of the wealthiest areas in Orlando. Where Full Sail is located is right on the edge of Winter Park and it itsn't as nice there. To get in the real Winter Park it will cost you a pretty penny, but there are some other areas that are nice as well.
Thunderstorms are an issue, but ghettos??? I live here and I only know of one really bad ghetto....and that is near downtown, and what city doesn't have that? Its a great place to live, not so friendly to the industry, though. Full Sail is a great school....hope you enjoy it. Let me know if I can help in any other way!

so you live in Winter Park? You see, I have to pick a place to live over the internet...most likely going to do an apartment, and sign the lease and fax it over.
