i think that your browser has a profanity filter in it - i've had no problems registering domains with the word fuck or other such names

no, deffinately not that,
haven't had any problems in the past, just saw this now for the first time

I wouldn't get much work done if my browser had any sort of profanity filter

Can any one verify this by going to godaddy and searching for a domain with the word fuck in it?

Were you trying to register a .us domain? There are 7 words that are not allowed in .us domain names.
At least they warn you now. It used to be you could register them and they would immediately be locked, no refunds or anything.
