Unless the people who wrote the poker client software are absolute morons, the software would be client/server. Your client would talk to their server, and it would talk back to you. The server would update you as to the status of the other players.
There would be no way for another player to determine your IP in that regard.
Allowing peer to peer updates would also open a door for various exploits to the poker software, so I sincerely doubt it works that way. I'm just speaking from experience supporting online gambling software in Costa Rica. (both major vendors, Inet and IQL).
Since you seem to think YOU know what you're talking about, I assume you have those netstat logs handy to show me the port and IP connection of the person who hacked your machine. Anyone that knew the first thing about networking would know / have that.

Omfg... I worked at my ISP's customer support center for about 3 days, and the worst I heard was:
"I shut my computer overnight, but when I got back on, I kept getting blue screens. I think the hacker attacked me overnight when I wasn't at the computer."
... But this "poker/hacking incident" is far worse.

Have you tried the following (too lazy to read the entire thread)
Remove battery, disconnect power cable and hold pwr button down for about 30-40 seconds .. then reconnect both and try to turn it on?
Do you have another power cable u can switch with? same for the battery ..
Have you tried another power outlet, or another device (lamp, clock, whatever) in the same outlet ..
If none of the above work, and your still not getting any noises from the computer or any video then your motherboard and possibly a few other internal components have failed ..
If you are getting noise, but no video, then hook up an external monitor and try the FN + F10? or F11 (depending upon make) .. could be a bad vid card or LCD.M E D I U M P I M P I N . C O MComment
