If you're unable to motivate yourself, join a recreational activity with other people. There's always groups that get together to jog, 100s of forms of karate, swim classes, and lots of other things that don't require you to be in shape to get into. Local gyms usually have a ton of programs going on throughout the week you could check into as well.
Once you start getting into shape you might start gaining confidence to do things daily on your own, if not, no big deal just stick with a good program.
The important thing is that you have to remember you have to start somewhere, so don't be ashamed to join something and be out of shape.
